SHADOWMARK

MUTATION

"Shadowmark takes the entire base color and turns it black, rendering all other markings (besides a few) invisible; then the base of black is covered in a very specifically placed white marking. The white will cover 75-80% of the body, specifically leaving the entire face/ears, chest points, wrist/knees/hocks/toes , tuck, and tail tip exposed. Shadowmark may be effected by small freckling (optional) and softened edges along joints and the tuck (required).

Shadowmark can be effected by Greying, Jay , Seal , Bloom, Creme ; and show the following markings: Roan , Snow, and Splashing (*face only for splash). These are the only other markings that can be visible with shadowmark.

If white is visible on the nose (from splashing or roan) then the nose/lips may be colored pink/lighter liver/light blue chow."

COLOR TIPS:

☛ Base must be a shade of black, white must be a fully desaturated white (not cream, unless effected by Creme.)

☛ Generally, all Shadowmarks will follow the pattern above, varying only slightly.
☛ A subtle gradient may be placed on the black and white layers.
☛ Non-Creme Shadowmarks may only show black/grey flesh spotting.

Jay / Bloom / Seal all show on top of the black base chosen, and UNDER the white layer.

Shadowmark with Roan, showing a slight variation in the spotting. If spotting size grows, then it's coverage of an area should shrink. However, one can mix larger spotting with small freckling.
