MODIFIERS index

MODIFIERS (uncommon genes) like to alter the coat by tinting it to different hues, or only effect certain markings. Think of modifiers as not markings themselves, but extensions of what markings/the base coat can do. Not all modifiers are as intense as one another, and there are many cases where even common sukas sport one or more different modifiers.

(Q) Can Modifiers effect one another?
(A) In some cases, yes. A modifier will let you know if something else does/doesn't effect it.

(Q) Do I have to present a Modifier? What if I hate it?
(A) Most modifiers have 'minimal' variations that you can adhere to if you dislike the modifier, otherwise it must be present. Using something like an Eraser Brush (from Rusol District) can remove genes you don't like from a suka, but those items can get pricy!

(Q) Where do I find the Modifiers?
(A) Click the boxed button text below to go to a Modifier's page, this is the general modifiers hub/index. Alternatively, you can zoom out (CTRL - )on your webpage, to see more of the header menu up top.

Blackened & melanistic

Blackened only effects certain markings by locking them to a dark black/liver palette.

By breeding together two Blackened gened sukas, you can achieve Melanistic offspring, as Melanistic is the dominant form of Blackened.

greying & restricted greying

Greying desaturates the entire coat and most markings, but greying also has quite a few variations that users may use to customize their greying suka. No 2 greyings are always alike, but it can be quite clear when a suka is greying effected.

Restricted Greying only greys out some of the coat.

CREME, Lilac,
& Emerald

Modifiers like Creme, Lilac, and Emerald take a wide turn to effect the entire base and its markings, sometimes even restricting or omitting markings entirely.

Each modifier has a color preference that adheres to its name given, and may or may not be effected by other modifiers.

Seal , Bloom,
& Jay

Seal, Bloom, and Jay are known as the "Seal Family" of genes, and all behave in relatively the same ways, except each modifier exhibits different color characteristics.

Seal Family genes typically effect the base layer of the coat, sometimes even tinting otherwise color-locked markings to the modifier color scheme instead.  Tutorial.

Pearl
& Quilled

Pearl & Quilled are modifiers that effect how the coat texture appears. Sukas can receive a sheen overlaying their coat to show a shine to their coat (Pearl)

Or they can show quite a bit more painterly-fur texture than other sukas can.

Speckled

Speckled effects white markings only, by adding spotting/speckling/freckles to the insides of the marking.

Speckling can appear soft or very hard and defined, but all in all it's an optional modifier to show.

Busan & cosmic, Ember

Modifiers like Busan, Ember, Opal, or Holographic may be able to effect the entire base color, but instead like Blackened, typically effect specific markings or are limited in some manner.

Each of these modifiers are rather unique in what they allow, and are not always optional but can be.
