GREYING

GY / Gy / MODIFIER

greyingpalette.png

"The greying modifier changes the base color entirely and swaps it for a near-wear to completely white color. The Suka which it effects can either become completely solid white as a result, or have all of its colored desaturated, relative to the above base palettes to create a very pale colored dog, or have an effect called 'Fleabitten' applied to it where it does not effect the base or markings, but instead shows some bits and pieces of the original suka underneath a layer of finely ticked white."

COLOR TIPS:

☛ Must strictly stick to ONE of the above palettes when choosing for the base color.

☛ If you choose to void all markings, the flesh must be locked to one of the above nose/flesh colors. If you choose to show markings, you may have any flesh color that is no lighter than a natural pink tone, any unnaturally pale lilac, liver, or blue chow flesh will be denied. If at any time your design heavily resembles an Albino, it will be sent to corrections.

☛ You cannot pick and choose which markings disappear, either all of them do or none of them do. Exceptions are made for markings fading into one another due to the limited color choices, but every marking should be distinguishable in some way.

☛ Any markings that are color-locked to be significantly darker than the base/black (such as Somatic, Liner, Ink, etc) must be chosen from the "Greying Palette for Liners" palette from above.

☛ Any markings that are color-locked to be brown, red, or tan (Such as Points, Seal, or Accents) will lock to the above BROWN palettes labeled "Greying Points". (Black palette for BLACKENED POINTS ONLY , Red palette for BUSAN markings only.)

☛ Fleabitten is the only variation that does not need to be color-locked, however the white/fleabitten must cover 95%+ of the design, and no spotting similar to piebald or appaloosa will be approved. The spotting must be very fine, even in large patches like the example below.

STEEL GREYING

"Steel is a combination of the Greying Gene modifier and the Blue Coat, and is completely optional to use, but only available with the Blue Coat. It causes at least one (or all markings) present on the Suka to lock to a steel-y blue or color, rather than the above white/near white colors. Steel Sukas almost always have a blue-chow flesh color and light eyes (of varying colors). The most notable Steel Suka example, would be Merchant/White Witch, Orianna."

MARBLE GREYING / "MARBLE"

Marble is a variation of Greying that only occurs when SAGE , BLACK , OR BLUE bases are present (This includes cross coats.) This allows for greying to lock the base to a white/cream palette, and add soft , fur textured, sabling like markings along the face and spine of the suka in light to medium greys. There is always some sort of spotting along the legs and muzzles, and ears are optional to include spotting. "Break Away" spots may also occur minimally along the marble/sable areas like nape an back. Marble has stricter rules and placements to follow.

THE BELOW RANGES REFER TO WHERE THE 'GREY' OCCURS.

The base must be locked to the above white palette. Appaloosa & Piebald may effect the way the white interacts with the grey. All hot spots must be touched fully, excluding the ears which are optional , but very common.
