Before we move on, it’s good to understand how to read our Phenotype and Genotypes.

Below are our examples, and we’ll name them Barks & Rec

Reading a PHENOTYPE

The Phenotype is the part of your suka that reads back as words, not letters.

BARKS:

“Pearl Black w/ Saddle, Piebald, Snow”

REC:

“Seal Ember Mimosa w/ Mask, Collar, Nubo, Toile (Hooded)

Lineage-Markings: Cross Peach”

Reading a GENOTYPE

The (shorthand) "Geno" refers to the entire suka, we say "genotype/geno string" when we refer to the lettering aspect of your geno.

BARKS:

“Pearl Black w/ Saddle, Piebald, Snow”

“Uc/+Pr/Sa/Pb/Sn”

REC:

“Seal Ember Mimosa w/ Mask, Collar, Nubo, Toile (Hooded)

Lineage-Markings: Cross Peach”

“Rr/+Sl/+Em/Mm/Co/Nu/To”

Reading Genos like ADMINS

(!) This is how admins look at sukas during breedings, it helps to know moving forwards how to read a geno like an admin.

SIRE:

Peach w/ Saddle, Sable, Piebald, Toile

DAM:

Blackened Blonde w/ Points, Snow

➥  When Breeding, these genos read as➥

SIRE:

No Modifier Rare Base , Common Markings, Uncommon Markings, Rare Markings

DAM:

Modifier Common Base w/ No Common Markings , Uncommon Markings, Rare Markings

(number of markings will not affect how many your offspring get.)

Reading Genos from BREEDING

(!) Bred genos are given more freedom of customization, allowing users to handpick markings off the sire/dam and place them onto their litter offspring, so long as that offspring has marking room!

PUP (1) Female, Healthy, Wild Coat

Blackened Blonde w/ Common Markings (1 max), Uncommon Markings (2 max)

Curled Tail, Hound Ears

(!) This geno is telling us bare-bones information, and we'd need to see the Sire/Dam to know exactly what markings we can use here. But what we DO know is that this pup will have:

+ Blackened Modifier

+ Blonde Color , Wild Coat

+Curled Tail, Hound Ears

+1 Common Marking slot

+2 Uncommon Marking slots

- No rare markings , No Color Mutations

Base Color & Dominant Genes

Base Colors have their own gene markers, Dominant Genes vary.

BASE COLOR

Cc (Common Color) , Uc (Uncommon Color) , and Rr (Rare Color)

DOMINANT vs NON-DOMINANT

Non-Dominant Genes: Always denoted with a smaller letter next to a capital letter (“Uc” / “Pb”)
Dominant Genes: Always denoted as two capitals (“UC” / “PB”)

(!) Each base color does NOT have it’s own gene marker.
(!) "Dominant" Genes have 5-12% of passing (remaining dominant) / pup
(!) "Non-Dominant" Genes have a 10-25% of passing (as the regular/non-dom form) / pup

( ??? ) Genes Missing: Not every marking/color has a gene letter to it. In Rec, we see something called Mimosa and Hooded, but these are not reflected in the Geno string. This is common for parts of our genetics that can be an option or what we call “user option”. Some markings/colors are ALLOWED to be ignored, by opting out for another color or marking that is relative. Not all genes do this, and it is pretty limited to Lineage Markings, Designer Marks, Combo Markings, and Cross Colors.

Litters, Builds, and Sex

Sukas lean heavy in producing female pups (60% rate) to male pups (40%) rate.

.Standard build sukas do not really encounter stillborns, but other builds (or infected) suka definitely do. Stillborns can be brought “back to life” with the use of certain items, and irregular suka will often need items from The Witch’s Grave to have better breeding chances.

Sukas typically have 1-3 pups in a single litter, but can have up to 4 pups in a single litter. It is very rare to see 5 pups unless a potion or tack item is in use.

  • Any other build (or infected) typically only sees 1-2 pups per litter, and of those any can be affected by stillborn or infertility.

BREEDING Regular Suka

x  Regular Suka

= (Regular Suka) Healthy and Fertile (100%)

  • 1-4 pups on average, healthy & fertile.

x  Inbred Suka

= Inbred sukas have no inherent fertility.

  • Stillborn (100%)

= 1st gen inbred suka w/ restored fertility

  • Alive w/out Deformities (25% / pup)

  • Alive w/ Deformities (25% / pup)

    • Deformities provide a small debuff while Tasking.

  • Stillborn (50% chance / pup)

= 2nd or 3rd gen Inbred suka w/ restored fertility

  • Alive w/out Deformities (45% / pup)

  • Alive w/ Deformities (20% / pup)

    • Deformities provide a small debuff while Tasking.

  • Stillborn (35% chance / pup)
