"SIDESWIPE"

Sideswipe is a thick and dense marking stripe that flows horizontally along the suka. Similar to markings seen in animals like badgers or skunks, the stripe is connected as one solid shape. This marking even allows for some distinct facial markings. It will not touch the ears, tail, or muzzle area; and should only touch the spine minimally if ever. "Dorsal" Sideswipe references any stripe that touches the spine 1-2 times.

MODIFIERS THAT HEAVILY EFFECT THIS MARKING

(Some markings like "Blackened" are self-explanatory in their color change effect, and other modifiers will equally effect all markings in a certain way like "Greying". If a marking mentions a specific modifier, it may be effected heavily or have an altered palette. )

COLOR SHIFTS: Ember, Busan

MARKING VISIBILITY: Will optionally show on Creme, Blackened/Melanistic

Coverage & Shape

Sideswipe must cover a certain length of the suka's flank/neck area, but also must be a certain thickness. The minimum coverage area for this marking is also shown in ORANGE, the maximum coverage area for this marking is shown in RED.

NOT PASSING

  • If Sideswipe is too thin

  • If Sideswipe is too striped or disjointed

  • If Sideswipe does not have some curve/flow to it

BORDERLINE

(1) small, trail off "broken" piece will be accepted for the most minimal version of Sideswipe ONLY.

Use the (orange) example to the left. Any more than this will be denied.

PASSING TIPS

  • Sideswipe should flow across the suka, horizontally.

  • The facial markings can be connected to the rest of the marking, this is optional.

  • Sideswipe is always symmetrical.

This marking may be any natural color relative to the base, lighter/darker than the base, or black. It may not be white in color.

gradient friendly.png

gradient friendly

This marking may take up to 3 smoothly blended colors as a gradient. The gradient may not have extreme contrast (such as: white to black, dark liver to bright cream, etc)

fade out friendly

You may either slightly soften (some) edges of the marking (not all edges), or you may lock the marking layer, choose the base color, and use it to create a gradient that "blends into the coat".
