"Bolt is a form of splashing (white marking) where the Splash becomes irregular and begins to dash and spread across the body in streaks, known as "Bolt Lines". These lines are striped (following the natural vertical nature or curve over the body) and almost always begin from a piece of undisturbed/solid white, and spread out completely to the end/edge of the body. On occasion, lines may not always fully connect to the end/edge of the body but this should be limited to 4-5 bolt lines.

When in combination with other white markings, instead of making the elusive 'Palmetto' Bolt instead simply runs along the edges of the other white marking or runs through it. "

COLOR TIPS:

☛ Must be white or near white

☛ Bolt is often times asymmetrical, especially on the body, even if only a little bit of the symmetry is thrown off.

⬆ !ABOVE SHOWS THE MAXIMUM RANGE FOR BOLT LINES! â¬†

The areas of white which do not show actual Bolt Lines may not extend across 40% of the body or mimic any distinct white markings such as Piebald, Paint, and so on. The dark pink areas are areas which the white may extend to so long as it does not pass 50% and it shows Bolt Lines clearly. Below shows a randomized 'max' version of the Bolt marking. The ~40% of 'solid'/undisturbed white chunk (and tail) + Bolt Lines makes around 50% total coverage of Bolt on this example.
