"Mottled is a 3 toned marking that spreads from the bottom of a suka (and the face of the suka) upwards and inwards. Mottled had been mistaken for a sickly looking suka, as the spotting/bubbles can resemble something plague-like. Mottled is typically confined along an area of the body and then spreads, and does not typically have multiple 'random patches' of spotting. Mottled unlike Grease is more likely to conjoin and create more 'irregular' circular patches."

COLOR TIPS:

☛ 3 Toned: This marking may have up to 3 different color tones, but must show at least 2 different colors.

☛ The first layer of Mottled must be a color DARKER than the base, the inner 2-3 layers of color may be anything natural relative to the base or first layer of mottle. All secondary spots must stay inside of the main layer of spots!

⬆ !ABOVE SHOWS THE MAXIMUM RANGE! â¬†

MINIMUM RANGE NEEDED: At least ALL THREE minimal areas must be touched upon. Bottom Right shows the maximum size of outer layer spots vs the minimum size.

MINIMUM HOTSPOTS: Where the marking is most likely to occur in its 'minimal' form.

BREAKING DOWN MOTTLED

KEY WORDS

"Main Site"

where the majority of Mottled is occurring

(must be at least 40% or more as 'one connected/semi connected' piece.)

"Minor Site"

is an area of mottled that shows spotting coverage of 10-25%

(any more than 25% should be semi/connected to the 'main site', any less than 10% is considered a 'break away'. There is no max of how may minor sites you have.)

"Bleed Site"

is a minor site that bleeds outside of the max range.

(this may only happen once on any design and must be a minor site)

"Break Away"

is any spotting area less than 10% and not in some way connected to the major or minor sites.

(Break aways are often further away from where the main/minor sites cluster, and may fall out of range)
