"Scales is a marking that only effects the front /wrist/knee of the limbs and the bridge of the nose, covering the suka in blocky, yet uniform looking rectangle or cloud shaped 'scale marks'. While Scales are color friendly and offer a lot of freedom in terms of placement, amount of scaling, and so on - Scales are very particular in that they must be handmade, and uniform in the way which they scale from size/width moving vertically along the suka (Must start out small, become largest at the midpoint, and taper out small again.) Scales may follow the curve of the suka to appear more natural."
