"Kubo is a colorful red-purple and cream-white extended mask marking (meaning if both genes are present, one may cancel out the other.) That occurs only on the head, and covers the entire head in either a base of cream/white or a base of red/purple. Kubo has a lot of freedom in how the designer chooses to place markers (such as lips, brows, cheek points, etc) and which colors they wish to use, however, it's important to follow these guidelines: The base may be ONE of the palette colors (either cream or red palette) and may show a slight gradient. From there you'll need two sets of different colored markers. This means there should be a total of THREE DIFFERENT COLORS , all chosen from the palette, within the single Kubo marking. Kubo may also allow for a reddish-purple inner ear or flesh."

COLOR TIPS:

☛ Strict Colors:  This marking must use only the above palettes (in any order the user sees fit, but every chosen color must stand out from one another.)
☛ Whatever color is used for the BASE , may not be used for the markers. (If the base is cream, you cannot do all cream/white markers !)

☛ The only modifier that effects Kubo is CREME, locking the Kubo to the below Tan/Brown/Cream palettes.

The entire head must be covered (ear to chin) in a chosen color from the palette, and each neon area must be touched upon with "markers" in various colors to help "paint" the Kubo mask. ("Forehead" may also count for Brow markers)

Example of a (Lighter) Red based Kubo mask, using dark purple and cream as it's marker colors. It has a very bold, simple approach to its "paint".

A hybrid between something considered ornate and bold. Red based Kubo mask.

Example of a Cream/White based Kubo mask, using mostly slightly different reds as its marker colors. It is slightly less bold, but more intricate in its painting. The shapes/extend of 'fanciness' seen on this example is about the most one can do in terms of making more ornate looking Kubo masks.

Kubo effected by Creme, using a dark reddish/liver base with orange/cream markers; and is quite intricately painted for Kubo.
