Design Custom Commissions

Design Customs include any custom made design by me, placed onto a base/template of my creation, and rendered for you following instructions given to me. There are other types of design-related items, such as: Sketchy Customs , Redesigns , Sketchy Character Sheet.

Design Customs can range from simple to complex, I will almost always try to render/paint/smooth at the end of the design. If you'd prefer to have the raw design without any extra rendering please request so when ordering.(for example, if you wanted your design to stay very simple I can lay off ticking/ fur / etc and skip the end painting process.)

While filling out the design custom form, there are some descriptors you can use to tell me where the design should lean in terms of color, complexity, and details. This will also help you gauge the estimated cost of the design. Not sure about the complexity? Try linking me previous designs of mine you like to help me gauge what you're looking for.

ARTISTIC FREEDOM : Implies that you do not have any ideas about what design you want and do not care how complex or simple the design is. You are providing me some detail like color/theme/a main marking highly, but otherwise lacking in description and want me to fill in the rest for you. If you are not comfortable with this please do not list Artistic Freedom on a design. I will look at your gallery of characters that I can find to help me decide what designs you tend to enjoy more when going this route so it is not completely random.

MOODBOARDS & PALTTES

The moodboard you provide to me acts as the color palette that I will pick from. So if the moodboard is not in a color scheme you like, please say so during your inquiry.

If you would rather give me a general palette of colors, examples of previous designs' color schemes, or an idea "natural red and black" that works too.

I will end up creating a moodboard/color palette for you.

​

I rarely look at the moodboard for concept inspiration unless it is otherwise mentioned. (example : a witchy moodboard does not mean I will make a witchy design, unless you specifically request that theme/element.)

Giving me songs as inspiration are fine, but please provide more specific details like color / mood / etc. A song may not be enough to guide me on color/marking ideas.

MARKING COMPLEXITIES

SIMPLE MARKINGS: ~3 layers of separate markings.

  • "Canine Natural" / "Wolfy" / "Agouti" / "Shepherd-y"

  • Masking, Roan, Tricolors, Majority Piebald/Simple Piebald.

  • "Ombre" / "Gradient" / "Dark/Light Face" / "Marble Fox"

SEMI-COMPLEX: 3-5 layers of separate markings

  • Complex Agouti , Jackal-Backs, High Ticking

  • Heavier White Markings or Black-Somatic Marking

  • Simple / Natural 1-Layer Merle

  • Broken Brindle / Minimal Striping / Dun

  • Symbols / Runes / Colorful Flecks / Asymmetrical Marks

COMPLEX: 5+ layers & heavy painterly finish

  • Heavy Spotting / Oil Slicks / Scales/Reptile Patterns

  • Complex White Patterns like messy piebald/sabino/vitiligo/etc

  • Complex Black Patterns like heavy somatic/chimera

  • Detailed 2-3 layer merle, merle inside white markings, etc

  • Massive Color Shifts like with Galaxy-ish designs.

SIMPLE ADD-ONS: +$3

  • Scars , Jewelry , Feather(s) , Bracelet or Bangles

SEMI-COMPLEX:  +$5

  • Collars , Bandanas, Flowers/Crowns, Small Companions (Bird/Bugs/Reptile)

COMPLEX:  Range from +$8-10

  • Unique Collars & Neckwear

  • Vests , Harnesses, Shawl, Long Bandanas

  • Headwear / Masks of any kind

  • Horns / Antlers ./ Multi-Limb

  • Tattoos and Scarifications

BASE COLOR

It is helpful to provide me some idea of what you'd like the base color to be as it will influence the contrast/color of other markings. (Either Dark, Light, or Neutral/Natural toned are fine descriptors.)

"Galaxy" / "Cloudy" / "Beachy" color bases are more complex and may raise the price of the custom since there's more painting/soft rendering.

​

You can also say "N/A" if you don't mind whether the design is mostly dark or mostly light.

EYES / FLESH

Eyes can be simple or become rather complex as I like to paint them, do multi-colors, and interesting hazel/heterochromic variations. You do not have to specify eye color, but I will take the color that pops the most from the moodboard and make that the eye color or split it amongst the most stand out colors if no color is requested.

Easy descriptors are SOLID , CRACKLED/SPOTTED/JAGGED, HETEROCHROMIA SPLIT, UNNATURAL BLACK, and RINGED/OPAL/RAINBOW. 

​

For flesh colors, please say N/A or an idea that you prefer; like "natural pink where white touches" , "mottled", "solid blue" , "unnatural mottled" and so on.

COLOR COMPLEXITIES

SIMPLE COLORS: 

  • All natural color palette (no unnatural colors or big color shifts)

  • Natural with a small pop of unnatural or eye-catching color.

  • All grayscale / black white monochrome.

SEMI-COMPLEX:  

  • Mostly Natural palette w/ a significant unnatural color marking(s)

  • Unnatural Palette w/ natural in between colors (Unnatural Red base, but fawn / blonde / silver markings for example)

​

COMPLEX:  

  • Natural base w/ Significant Multi-Colored patches of colors/markings.

  • All unnatural color & unnatural base

  • Unnatural color w/ natural in between colors.
